
Therapeutic Riding
Therapeutic riding is recreational therapy for disabled students to work on cognitive processing, participate in physical exercise, increase balance & coordination, increase communication skills, and increase spiritual growth all while learning how to ride a horse.
Riders that could benefit from Therapeutic Riding have disabilities including, but are not limited to:
- Sensory Integration Disorder
- Down Syndrome
- Autism
- Cerebral Palsy
- Brain Injuries
- Birth Defects
- Attention Deficit Disorder
A typical therapeutic riding lesson might include: learning grooming & saddling skills, games on horseback, pattern exercises, trail rides, and groundwork (such as leading the horse). Instructors are certified through NARHA.
Private Rides: 1 rider, 30 minutes – $40
Group Rides: 3-5 riders, 1 hour – $35 per rider (15 minutes for mounting, 15 minutes for dismounting, 30 minutes of riding)
Initial Evaluation: 30-45 minutes – $35
Evaluation is required for all beginning riders. Instructors will determine if client needs therapeutic riding based upon the evaluation.

Hippotherapy
Hippotherapy is a therapy session that utilizes the movement of the horse to reach the client’s goals in physical, occupational, or speech therapy for a better quality of life. Hippotherapy can improve balance, posture, mobility, and function for clients while providing a natural & stimulating environment. The horse creates a bonding relationship with clients that proves to be an enjoyable learning experience.
Riders that could benefit from Hippotherapy have disabilities including, but are not limited to:
- Cerebral Palsy
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Developmental Delay
- Stroke
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Autism and Learning/Language Disabilities
- Down Syndrome
- Spina Bifida
All instructors hold a state license within their profession and are certified through NARHA.
All sessions: 1 rider, 30 minutes – $80
Initial Evaluation: 30-45 minutes, $140
Evaluation is required for all beginning riders. Instructors will determine if client needs hippotherapy based upon the evaluation.
